Why Should I Support Parkinson’s New Zealand

Parkinson’s New Zealand offers information and professional support to people living with Parkinsons.

Parkinson’s Nurses work closely with the person with Parkinsons, and their carers to develop a high-quality medical plan.

Our nurses liaise with health professionals that treat Parkinsons in the community, including speech-language therapists, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists.

Parkinsons New Zealand also has support groups for members for sharing their coping strategies and establish social networks.

Programs for people with Parkinsons include exercise, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, and art or music therapy sessions.

What Organization Should You Choose

Natl Parkinson Foundation Invites Father

If the family has specified an organization for memorial donations, or requested donations to the family to help cover funeral expenses, then you should follow their lead. Its not a good idea to choose an organization other than what theyve specified it can come off as disrespectful to their wishes.

Organizations for memorial donations are often chosen because of a special love the deceased had for that cause, or to fund research into a disease they had, or even because they expressed a wish before their death for friends and family to support the organization. Even if its an organization you wouldnt otherwise support, its most respectful to honor the deceased with a donation there rather than finding your own cause to support in their honor.

If the family hasnt specified an organization for memorial donations, then you can choose one you think is appropriate. Here are a few suggestions:

    How Much Should You Give

A memorial donation can be as small or as large as you want it to be. If your budget is tight but you still want to remember someone special with a contribution, $5 is absolutely an appropriate amount. Theres no shame in giving just a few dollars if its all you can afford.

On the other hand, if you have the means and would like to make a more substantial memorial donation, it will certainly be appreciated by the recipient. A memorial donation of any amount is a generous gesture.

When Is A Memorial Donation Appropriate

It is almost always appropriate to make a donation in memory of someone who has died. Its a positive contribution to the world in their honor, and thats likely to be appreciated by their loved ones.

If the obituary requests memorial donations in lieu of flowers, that means the family actively wants people to contribute in their loved ones memory rather than sending flowers. Making a memorial donation is the perfect choice here.

If the obituary requests flowers, that doesnt mean you cant also make a memorial donation. Its a good idea to follow the familys wishes, so if they have specified that flowers can be sent to a certain location, you might consider sending a small floral arrangement as well as making a memorial donation.

If the obituary doesnt specify either way, you can still make a memorial donation. The family might not have thought of the idea, or they might just have chosen not to include it in the obituary.

Some obituaries suggest a monetary donation to the family to help with funeral costs. This still counts as a memorial donation, and it may be a much-needed one if the death was unexpected and/or the family has financial struggles.

    Adlai Ewing Stevenson Iii

Adlai Ewing Stevenson III, died peacefully after a long illness on Monday, September 6, 2021, at his home in Chicago with his family holding his hand. A simple graveside gathering for family and local friends will be at 1 PM on Saturday, September 11, 2021, in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Irish Hollow Road, rural Galena, IL. The Furlong Funeral Chapel, Galena is assisting the family.

Born into an Illinois political family, Adlai E. Stevenson III carved a path through American politics that placed him at the forefront of leaders who foresaw the nature of the post-WWII order and prepared the United States to thrive within it. The son of Illinois Governor and two-time Democratic nominee for President Adlai Stevenson II, and great-grandson of former Vice President Adlai Stevenson, Senator Stevenson employed his legacy and institutional savvy to promote future-oriented policies in finance, technology, and innovation to sustain the United States leadership position in the collaborative world order.

As comfortable at his farm near Galena, IL as he was in the halls of power in Washington, Senator Stevenson epitomized a generation of American political leadership that was able to connect the heart of America to the forward-looking policies that would sustain its primacy in world affairs.

Stevenson co-authored the energy legislation of the mid-1970s as Chair of the Senate

Joyce Carol Esbensen , 89, died peacefully on Friday, September 24, 2021.
