Interaction result. Taking Trintellix and an SSRIcan increase the risk of serotonin syndrome* and other side effects.

However, if your doctor prescribes Trintellix with an SSRI, they may monitor you more often for symptoms of serotonin syndrome. You can also watch for these symptoms. Side Effects Of Using Trintellix To Treat Depression
The FDA has reported and stated on the package insert that Trintellix is associated with a number of adverse side effects, some of which require cessation of the drug or reducing the dosage by half for patient safety.4 As stated above, these are not dissimilar to the adverse effects of other antidepressants.

Specifically, in people with narrow angles in their eye, antidepressants such as Trintellix can trigger a condition called angle-closure glaucoma. This condition may also be called closed-angle glaucoma. Symptoms can include:

How To Determine The Cause

Vortioxetine Treatment Of Depression In Parkinsons Disease

Objective: To assess efficacy and safety of Vortioxetine in Parkinsons Disease patients affected by depression and its effects on motor performance.
Background: Depression is one of the most common non-motor symptoms in PD patients, with a reported prevalence of 3040% overall. It is associated with rapid progression of motor and cognitive symptoms, as well as with worse quality of life. Vortioxetine is an antidepressant drug, acting as multimodal regulator of serotonin trasmission. Several types of antidepressants are currently available to treat PD-associated depression . Nevertheless, no previous studies were carried out to assess the effects of Vortioxetine in dPD.
Results: In this cohort, mean baseline scores were: MDS-UPDRS 19±5 HDRS 18±6. After three months of 10 mg daily Vortioxetine treatment, patients showed improvement of HDRS score , as well as patients treated with 20 mg dose . MDS-UPDRS scores were not significantly modified by the therapy in both groups. No severe side effects were reported.
Our findings suggest that Vortioxetine improves depression severity in dPD patients, without significant worsening of motor symptoms. Moreover, Vortioxetine was proved to have a remarkable safety profile.

What Is The Most Important Information I Should Know About Trintellix
You should not use vortioxetine if you are allergic to it.
Do not use vortioxetine if you have used an MAO inhibitor in the past 14 days. A dangerous drug interaction could occur. MAO inhibitors include isocarboxazid, linezolid, methylene blue injection, phenelzine, tranylcypromine, and others.
After you stop taking vortioxetine you must wait at least 21 days before you start taking an MAO inhibitor.

A potentially useful discriminating feature is mood, which is negative in depression and neutral in apathy . It is important to remember that the differential diagnosis for depression is broad and includes other psychiatric disorders such as bipolar disorder, cognitive disorders, neoplastic processes affecting the central nervous system, metabolic and endocrine abnormalities, infections, hypoxemia, sleep disorders, medication side effects, and substance use, as well as hypoactive delirium caused by a variety of underlying illnesses.

Parkinsons disease is a chronic, progressive neurodegenerative disorder clinically diagnosed by a combination of cardinal motor signs: bradykinesia, resting tremor, rigidity, and postural instability. The pathological hallmarks of Parkinsons disease include the loss of dopaminergic neurons within the substantia nigra and the presence of Lewy bodies, intracytoplasmic inclusions comprised mainly of alpha-synuclein . While the estimated prevalence for Parkinsons disease has varied widely, a recent meta-analysis reported the worldwide prevalence to be approximately 0.3% in the general population, suggesting that there are 7.5 million people living with the disorder worldwide . A male predominance has also been observed in many but not all epidemiologic studies, suggesting that men may have a higher risk for developing the disease than women .

Typically, the best solution for tremors caused by antidepressants is to stop taking the drug causing it and switch to a different medication. Tremors will generally resolve over time after the medication has been ceased, but occasionally a tremor caused by SSRIs may persist.
